BEHIND THE BUSINESS

Kool Cars & Kustoms is proudly owned by Townsville locals Damien and Liberty Eggins.  Having involvement in the car industry for over 30 years, they know their stuff when it comes to hotted up rides.

Building cars has always been flowing through Damien’s veins with a teenage hobby quickly turning into a career. This career has lead to Damien and Lib planning and operating car shows such as the Auto Spectacular, Burnout Comps and Wild on Wheels in all locations from Mackay to Cairns. From 2001-2006 “Classic Chevy Limousines” with Damien’s two matching 57’ Chevy’s were the car of choice for weddings, graduations and scenic drives.

Damien has always kept up the hobby of building cars, however word of mouth spread the news of his talent. This lead Damien to opening “NQ Kool Cars & Kustoms” and throughout the years the business has grown with now employing 8 staff who love making “car dreams” come true.

COMMUNITY FOCUS

Damien and Liberty are passionate about cars but they are also passionate about their community. For many years they have both been active members in developing, participating and organising different community event and fundraisers. Over an eight year period Damo & Lib put on over 36 motoring events! Since 2008, along with the other members of Townsville Rodders and Custom Car Club, they have delivered over $75,000 back to the community.

Hot August Nights is ones of these fundraising events a poker run giving the car community to enjoy cruising in the vehicles while having some fun and chances to win money and great prizes. Damien and Liberty are also proud supporters of DRIVE IT NQ, as they believe that this complex can help save the lives of young drivers like their own children.

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

Since the beginning of Nq Kool Cars & Kustoms in 2008, the business has seen numerous transformations. One of the proudest aspects of the business is our ability to employ locals. Opening with only two staff members we have since given the opportunity for numerous individuals to pursue a career in the automotive industry working on the beautiful cars we receive.

Amongst these staff members include apprentices that have been through the business. There are currently 12 staff that perform within the workshop and four in administration. Out of the 12 there are five apprentices which are spread across paint, panel and mechanical trades. There are two reasons we are looking to teach these young gentlemen.

We are big believers in looking to the future of the automotive industry and highly encourage young workers to join the trade. These men also have a passion for classic cars and the motivation to succeed. That motivation even led to one of the five apprentices, Harry being a finalist in Capricorns 'Apprentice of the Year'. Nq Kool Cars will continue to guide the next generation of motor enthusiasts to pursue their passion.
